Description

Starting off with ‘meet and greet’ coffees in the Salt Pig Café within Scaplen’s Court at the heart of Old Poole, I’ll show you: how I go about sketching, using sketchbooks and my preferred small kit of sketching materials.

I will introduce you to my favourite sketching techniques and get you started on ‘seeing’ the essential aspects – to avoid getting bogged down in time-consuming and unnecessary details!

We’ll get outdoors and sketch walk the glorious and ancient buildings and alleyways – to start sketching the smaller scenes and also the bigger picture. We’ll enjoy a packed lunch together on the quayside as we take a brief break and prepare for the afternoon session.

We’ll gather at the end of the day to share our results and pick up helpful tips for progressing your skills. We’ll have a ‘throwdown’ photo of all our sketches and a group pic to remember the day, before saying farewell.

You can expect a satisfying sketch walk where you will start learning or improving an affordable and portable art hobby – which can easily be taken anywhere and enjoyed for a lifetime.
