Why not make a New Year Resolution to get into sketching! With two group workshops scheduled for January 2026, there’s no better time to start.
What to expect: As usual, the workshops will be limited to a maximum of 5 students, which enables me to give my full attention to everyone in the group. Basic materials will be supplied, but it’s great if you can bring any of your own. Each of these workshops will be based in two of my favourite locations; Westbourne on 13th and Wimborne 27th January.
Both are bustling urban towns with plenty of character. We’ll start off with introductions, discover what each participant aims to achieve from the day and then get into exploring my recommended equipment and techniques.
After a session of quick, exploratory sketches in our base venue, we’ll get outdoors and start sketching the town’s buildings from life! Perhaps starting with some close up sections of shops and progressing to wider pictures of the streets. All with my constant coaching and help.
We’ll take a short ‘working’ break for lunch, recalibrate our plans and progress as required for the afternoon session. Everyone will have the chance to pop a professional mount over their best work and to take home a whole bundle of inspiring sketches!
We’ll have a summary round up, team photo and ‘throwdown’ of all our works – before going home with a new spark for sketching!
