If you love sketching all year round – but don’t like get cold and wet – this is for you! I will be offering an indoor sketching club to practice drawing skills and explore materials – in the warm and dry! Please read on and express an interest if this might be for you.
This is what I expect to offer:
My venue will probably be the good old Forge, set within the garden courtyard at the Libertine in Westbourne, BH4 8EL. (but I am considering other venues whist I shape these sessions up)
I learned last year that not everyone is as keen as I am to go out sketching in all weathers! Which is why I am inviting you to join me indoors for sketching sessions this winter and autumn. To start with, I’d appreciate knowing if you might be interested, and with no obligation, please could you express your interest at this point – I will then add you to my waitiung list and keep you updated on developments and details.
• Two hours, fortnightly on a weekday, probably Tuesday 10.15am – 12:15 noon
• £15 per person bring your own preferred sketching kit (basic pencils and paper available)
• The first hour: Enjoy a coached curriculum on specific sketching skills and trialling different media and techniques
• The second hour: SketchJAM freestyle all together on either still life subjects, or outdoors if nice
• Tea, coffee, soft & alcoholic drinks and bar meals readily available to buy from Libertine thoughout
• Opportunity to socialise briefly afterwards and possible invitation to visit Overbury’s Fine Art shop in the Arcade for pro advice on kit, ‘sketch club’ discounts and portraiture demos from Richard Overbury
The rustic setting of the Forge is very conducive for artists (and even copes with the occasional spillage). Previous students will know of the large wood-burning stove and overhead heat lamps, which promise to keep us cosy. This location is served by ample and regular bus services and benefits from numerous nearby car parks.
Booking:
Spaces will probably be restricted to a maximum of 12 and will be bookable on a weekly basis in my website shop. Places will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis. No need to commit to anything more than one weekly session at a time, but you could also book a batch of session or even the entire autumn & winter series, if you wished!

Having your expression of interest puts me in a position where I have confidence to line up venue hire and commit to making this all happen.
