The ‘Urban Sketch Walks’ are pretty much the same as my regular ‘Urban Sketching Group Workshop‘ – except that we are not tied to a static base. We will still meet and start off in a public coffee lounge, but then I will conduct the workshop on foot, as we explore and sketch our location.
There will be plenty of coffee stops, a shared working lunch and sheltered sketching places if wet. The content will still include practicing various drawing techniques with different media, but we will aim to cover more ground and capture more sketches – and more quickly! We will also seek to have a bit of an adventure! Previous Sketch Walks have explored the ancient buildings and alleyways of Poole old town, the quaint Pamphill church and it’s village buildings and tiny pub – we have even walked from Swanage Pier up over Old Harry and along to the Sandbanks chain ferry! Sometimes (such as with the very popular Pamphill workshop), I use my campervan as our base venue. And we always find places to enjoy. another coffee, grab a snack or share a packed lunch – and coaching and appraisal is a constant.
